Installation

You will need the following tools to install your blind:

  • Ladder or step stool
  • Drill and drill bits
  • Screwdriver
  • A level
  • The mounting hardware that came with your blinds

When installing inside mounted blinds, you will place the brackets inside the window frame. Measure the distance of the window from side to side, and take the measurements at different place across the window. Use the smallest measurement you used when you ordered your blinds. You will need to measure to the outside edge of the window trim when installing outside hung blinds. You should also note the exact length of the blinds from the top of the molding to the window sill so you do not mount the blinds too high above the window opening.

One of the brackets will have an open side that faces the room, while the other will have an opening that faces the center of the window. Use the brackets as place markers as you drill pilot holes. Check to make sure that the holes are level, and then continue to drill the holes for the screws. Slide the head rail into the brackets and secure it. Add the wand that is used for adjusting the slant of the blinds and you are ready to enjoy your new blinds.
