Before you start measuring for blinds, you need to determine if you want to mount them inside or outside your window casing.
Inside Mounting:
We recommend inside mounted blinds if possible because it gives a cleaner look. When using an inside mount, the window must have enough open depth to allow mounting and free opening and closing of the blinds. Most homeowners with recessed windows also choose to install their blinds inside the window frame. When measuring for inside mounted blinds, take your time and double check your measurements.
Outside Mounting:
Outside mounted blinds will make a window look larger and help to hide a window that is unattractive. Outside mounting is also a clean looking way to cover multiple windows with one set of blinds. When measuring for window coverings, be sure to allow for the height of the blinds head trailing.
